What is Food Store Direct?
Food Store Direct is an online farmers market. We connect you directly to American food producers. When you order, your food ships straight from the producer to your door. No middlemen, no warehouses, no anonymous sourcing.
Is the meat really mRNA vaccine-free?
Yes. We work with producers who do not use mRNA vaccines on their livestock. This is a non-negotiable standard for the meat and poultry sold on our platform. If you have questions about a specific producers practices, contact us and we will connect you directly.
How is perishable food shipped safely?
All perishable products ship in insulated packaging with appropriate cooling (dry ice, gel packs, etc.). Each producer follows our Perishable Standard, which sets minimum requirements for safe perishable shipping. Transit times are kept short, typically 2-5 business days depending on your location.
Is the food frozen or fresh?
It depends on the product. Most meat and seafood ships frozen to ensure safe transit. Some products (baked goods, condiments, coffee) ship at room temperature. Each product page specifies the shipping condition.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is weight-based and calculated per producer. Our FSD Weight Meter in the cart shows you exactly what shipping will cost as you add items, including the price per pound and next pricing tier. Heavier orders cost more total but less per pound.
When will my order ship?
Each producer has designated ship days. The cart widget shows the next ship date. Orders placed before 12:00 PM CT on a ship day go out that day. After noon, they ship on the next scheduled day.
Where do you ship?
All 50 U.S. states. We do not currently ship internationally. Some perishable products may have state restrictions, noted on the product page.
Do I need a subscription?
No. There are no subscriptions, no boxes, no recurring charges. Buy what you want, when you want.
What if my order arrives damaged or spoiled?
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the product and packaging. We will work with the producer to replace the items or issue a full refund. See our Refund Policy.
Who are the producers?
Every product on our site lists the producer name. You can browse producer stores to see their full catalog, story, and location. We currently work with 10 American producers across beef, pork, bison, seafood, baked goods, condiments, coffee, and more.
